Peter
Lik
Peter Lik is an Australian
photographer. His main focus is
landscape photography, and he is also known for his panoramic shots. Lik travels all around the world and captures
breathtaking shots of mountains, deserts, oceans, and many other places. These images are so wonderful that sometimes
they seem almost surreal. One of his
accomplishments is a book called “Spirit of America”, in which he photographs
all 50 states. He also has a television
series on The Weather Channel called From
the Edge with Peter Lik. The show
features him traveling across the United States, weathering the elements to get
great photographs. Peter Lik is famous
for his record-breaking sale of the photograph “One”, selling for $1 million.
Peter Lik is an inspiration to me
because he is entirely self-taught. I
like the bold, saturated colors in his landscape photography, and I also find
the places he travels to be interesting.
Lik holds so many accomplishments in the world of photography, including
fellowships, the award of Master Photographer from AIPP and PPA, and owns
several galleries. Although I enjoy
conceptual art very much, Peter Lik is a nice break from the art commonly found
by today’s working artists.
